E3 - 2003

INTRODUCTION

There are only a few moments within a year that spring joy and happiness. The first day of summer. Christmas Day. Taking a giant shit/fart, have it what you will. For the gamer it is E3. Here I'll be busting caps with some E3 news and my thoughts on the shit(like you give a shit anyway, but I promise too build you a giant Mech if you actualy read anything here) and provide a few cool links. I'll be focusing mainly on SEGA, NINTENDO and SONIC TEAM news. Life is too precious and short to dwelve into the details of the next Crash-Bandicrap game. I'll provide the FACTS of certain titles and not the usual internet gossip. Like last year's E3 when rumours ran rampant that EA was doing a game based on HAPPY DAYS. So Long E3, see ya next year! Well it sure was an exciting time. Sony and Microsoft's console price cuts were a welcome. Nintendo's answer to the cuts is to bundle the GBA television adapter with the Cube which I have too admit is rather cool. Halo 2 looks fantastic and it ain't coming out until next year. Sonic Team rocked E3 with a ton of very promising Sonic titles. Sadly, PSO Episode III will be the final chapter in the legendary RPG series. This title is a card battle game via online or LAN setup, an ideal game for Nintendo's future screen adapter for the Cube. Mario Kart Double Dash looks like one of those 2-litre bottle of beers, very cool. Hopefully Tyler and I will have an E3 radio show at some point it the future with additional comments. Peace. - Kelley

19:19 - The Japanese Anime series SONIC X will debut in this Fall in North America. We all knew that. What has just been confirmed is that *drum roll* *trumpets* *lightning strikes* is that 4KIDS ENTERTAINMENT... The very dudes responisble for bring the animated Pokemon series to our shores will be translating and distributing it. Thank God! Yes! I love the work they've done with Pokemon and can't wait to see their magic work on Sonic's animated adventures. Good-bye SATAM... Sleep well. All of the 52 Japanese episodes will be brought over.

14:01 - Nintendo kicked some series ass yesterday with a press conference featuring some bad mutherfuckers. Legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto was on hand alongside George Harrison and Satoru Iwata to reveal a number of killer titles for the Cube this year. Mario Kart Double Dash will feature an 8-player, LAN mode which I'm sure will rule. The big news was the arrival of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes for the Cube which is a remake of the PS1 classic. The game will feature Snake's updated moves from MGS2 including the ability to knock out/cap an enemy and hide his body. Konami's Hideo Kojima(God) and Silicon Knights'(MGSTS Cube developer) Denis Dyack were on stage alongside Miyamoto too discuss the title.

13:49 - Ya so I'm like, ohhh let's download a certain trailer from a certain website (*haachooo* IGN sucks a big harry sack), but it won't even play back. So, fuck'em. Two kick ass trailers await for you at MetalGear.Net. So Snake 3 takes place in a jungle... Holy Shit that rocks! Man this game looks killer on the PS2 and Snake 1 on the Cube, damn I feel horny!
